It Happened in Key West is inspired by shocking true events that rocked the tiny island of Key West in the 1930s. After decades of searching for the dream girl of his boyhood visions, eccentric scientist Carl finds Elena, in Key West, only to lose the young beauty to the fatal disease of tuberculosis. But for Carl, the eternal optimist, death is only the beginning. Haunted by Elena’s spirit and at her request, he takes her body from the graveyard, brings her home, and embarks on the most ambitious "fixer-upper" project in history, as he tries to bring his beloved back to life.
Does this true story of undying love show devotion beyond measure, the purest of loves? Or a sick, macabre sensibility? The Key West community was divided with intrigue, disgust, sympathy and romanticism over the scientist who became hopelessly inseparable from the woman of his dreams!

Christmas Eve at The Bridgeview, the first year,
We were all so very happy to be here,
The entire family had gathered together
They came from near and far, despite the weather,
A delicious feast was carefully prepared,
During the meal, great fellowship was shared,
At the end of our dinner no food was spared,
For what happened next, none were prepared,
Gifts were given, but not one did we open,
Enjoying the moment, not a word was spoken,
Spending Christmas with family and friends,
Is what really matters when the day ends!
