Lewistown Station ~ The Oldest Station built by the PRR

A great piece of Pennsylvania Railroad history is The Lewistown Station! The Lewistown station holds a special distinction as the oldest surviving structure known to have been built by the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR). It has served freight shippers or passengers since it opened in 1849. The building is also thought to be the oldest station in continuous use in the United States. Originally constructed as a freight handling warehouse, the Lewistown station was converted to passenger use in 1868. It has drastically changed since then, a tower has been added projecting onto the platform, and reminders of the station's PRR heritage are visible in small details such as lamp posts along the platform that still bear the Keystone emblem.
Today, the facility and the parking lot are owned by the Pennsylvania Railroad Technical and Historical Society, and Norfolk Southern owns the platform and the track. It serves as an Amtrak Station, which is open before and during train departure times. However, there is no ticket office at this station, as Amtrak closed the ticket office in 1977.

AACA Museum Chocolate Covered February

The AACA Museum is proud to be a huge part of Chocolate Covered February in Hershey, PA. At the AACA Museum, guests can enjoy the 1920s gallery that depicts downtown Hershey in this iconic decade. The Museum is also home to one of the rare Hershey’s Kissmobile Cruisers on display for guests to enjoy. Throughout the month, guests can enjoy a Hershey Kisses Scavenger Hunt within the museum. On President's Day, February 19th, there is a special admission rate and kids can test their creativity by creating a “trash” car out of recycled materials. Special Featured Exhibits Include: Getting the Job Done: Vehicles That Earned Their Keep, National Corvette Restorers Society Gallery, The DeLorean Prototype #1 and the Historic Vehicle Association National Historic Register Car.
