![]() | Explore the history of the Pennsylvania Railroad!! There is no better place to explore The Pennsylvania Railroad's history than in it's namesake state. Many years have passed since the PRR ceased to exist, but much remains today. The PRR passenger station at Lewistown, PA , was built in 1849 is currently owned by the Pennsylvania Railroad Technical & Historical Society. Restoration of the station is complete and work is now underway cataloging and organizing thousands of PRR documents to serve as a research facility. Lewistown Station still functions as intended for Amtrak passengers and also is a great train watching spot. Sixty miles east is another Pennsylvania Railroad icon, The Rockville Bridge. Gracefully spanning the Susquehanna River are 48 stone arches still hosting trains for present day owner Norfolk Southern. This truly is a great train watching spot! The best part is, at The Bridgeview Bed & Breakfast you can watch all the action from an enormous deck overlooking the amazing panoramic view. Spend the night in a comfortable room with private bath, A/C, Wifi and enjoy a freshly made breakfast in the morning.
