Donato, Sr. and Liana Giusti opened the Subway Cafe in July of 1948. Now, thousands have stopped at the two-story brick building with its tall neon sign for the old-world pizzas. The couple took over the restaurant at 1000 Herr St. and unknowingly built a landmark! 76 years later and it's still going strong!!!!

The Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad Preservation Society invites you to experience A Journey back in Time. Tour the General Store and Railroad Station built in 1899, the Historic Roller Mill and Grain Elevator, take Motorcar Train Rides, Engage Costumed Interpreters in Lively Discussions, Explore Ma & Pa Locomotive No. 82 and Caboose No. 2007. Come on out to the Central Pennsylvania Rock and Mineral Club's Annual Gem, Mineral, and Jewelry Show, September 27th & 28th, 2025, at the Zembo Shrine Auditorium Harrisburg Consistory 2801 North Third Street in Harrisburg, PA, where you will find over 25 vendors to meet all your rock, gem, and jewelry needs. The event will feature, Pennsylvania Geological Survey display with free publications, informative programs presented by Jones Geological Services, a silent Auction and wheel of rocks, free prize drawings, educational mineral and fossil displays, kids can dig for rocks and gems for free in the kid's mini-mine, and more!
