Bald Eagles Seen at The Bridgeview Bed & Breakfast!!

Now that spring is on the way in Central PA, many birds are migrating north along the Susquehanna River flyway. They put on quite the show, feeding in the open water around The Bridgeview Bed & Breakfast. However, our most distinguished wildlife residents the Bald Eagles stay here all year long.
In the past weeks, Eagle sightings from our riverfront deck and sitting room have increased dramatically, especially in the early morning and late evening when they come to the river to feed. It is a great sight to see these marvelous birds soar gracefully, then swoop down to catch their prey. The Eagle population in this area has increased significantly over recent years, so, bring your cameras and be ready for some great photographs!!
Pictured here is a Bald Eagle down by the river in the yard at The Bridgeview!! March 7th is NATIONAL FLAPJACK DAY

March 7th delivers National Flapjack Day with piping hot flavor and goodness. The day honors the sturdy, wholesome cakes we’ve been cooking up for generations! Recipes handed down from grandmother to son and mother to daughter continue to bring smiles to families all across the country.
Flapjacks were a staple of pioneers pursuing new lives on the frontier. Packed with nutrients and energy, flapjacks provided the fuel they needed to withstand the arduous journeys. Stacked high, flapjacks remind us of mornings in grandma's kitchen when the coffee was fresh. We topped them with fresh blueberries and real maple syrup. Maybe today you add pecans or walnuts, thick-sliced bananas, and your favorite nut butter. Fresh whipped cream always makes flapjacks seem extra special, too!
A great place to celebrate National Flapjack Day is at The Bridgeview Bed & Breakfast! We are celebrating today with freshly made plain, blueberry or chocolate chip flapjacks!! What are your favorite kind of flapjacks??
